We are building a new state of the art 18 hole Pro Type Golf Course, A new Super Wal Mart, Two new strip malls, A proposed 580 acre ATV multipurpose Park, A new state of the art 110 bed County jail, new visitor center replicating the historic rail road heritage of Childress and the region, an 11 county regional small business incubator along with the WTAMU interprise center. Clarendon College is opening a Childress Campus with summer courses beginning in July and fall classes beginning in late August or first of September. Vo Tech classes will also be available. The Childress Regional Medical Center has been picked as one of the top 100 rural hospitals in the nation and will soon be a cancer treatment facility also.
